ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Paul is an attorney, social worker and someone in long-term recovery. Following a successful litigation career, Paul began a second career as a counselor for Hazelden Betty Ford in Chicago. From there, Paul held clinical, supervisory and executive positions with Gateway Foundation, the nation’s largest nonprofit SUD treatment provider, ultimately managing Gateway’s Chicago residential, outpatient and recovery-home services. More recently, Paul founded Front Door Health, an innovative, in-home behavioral-health treatment company providing concierge psychiatry, counseling, and recovery coaching services.

Personalized guidance for recovery

Paul founded Strategic Recovery Partners to broaden the focus of addiction treatment to include, foremost, families. Often, it is a family member, not the person struggling with drugs or alcohol, who recognizes the need for help and begins the search for the “best” treatment. As Paul observes, “searching Google, one enters the algorithmic equivalent of a used car lot, with search results leading not to the best clinical or well-matched treatment programs, but instead to the companies spending the most money on advertising and employing the best teams of SEO and digital marketers. Strategic Recovery Partners provides expert, unbiased, and personalized treatment navigation services with one objective – finding the right treatment for you or your loved one.”

Supporting families through every step of recovery

“Our family-first approach further recognizes that the person needing help often refuses it, or, despite trying, cannot stay sober, leading to relapse and a return to crisis. Strategic Recovery Partners addresses both problems, working with families to help convince the person in need to get help, and collaborating with families to develop, and implement, a long-term recovery plan that recognizes the realities of addiction recovery – there will be ups and downs, relapse, related problems, not the linear progression and “cure” families are promised. Anticipating problems and planning ahead, as opposed to hoping for the best and scrambling to come to the rescue when things go south, is what Strategic Recovery Partners is all about.”

Paul lives with his wife, daughter, and dog on Chicago’s Northshore and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Counseling Center of the Northshore.
